How to display points on Lightspeed retail customer receipts.

Make the customer's point balance visible on the receipt

It is important to let customers see their point balance after making a purchase, as this lets them know where they stand and can influence their next purchasing goals with the business. Here's how the business can set this up:

 

Step 1 - In Kangaroo:

  • Log in to the Business Portal.
  • Go to  Settings , Apps and integrations 
  • Check the box that says 'Override the "Notes" field in Lightspeed with the Customer's Kangaroo Balance'.
  • Scroll to the bottom and click save.

* Points will appear for previous sales and transactions, not the current ones; that's because it takes 10 minutes to update points on Lightspeed sales. 

** When first set up, it can take a few minutes to a few hours for customer point to become available to print on customer receipts, depending on the amount of data and the Lightspeed API speeds. 

Step 2 - In Lightspeed Retail POS:

  1. In the Lightspeed account, go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and click on the 'Print Template' button. 
  3. If the business already have a sales receipt template inserted, find the 'Miscellaneous' section and ensure that the customers' notes section is set to true: set show _customers_notes=true here is a quick video to help: Set notes to true
  4. If the business do not have a sales receipt template, please contact the Lightspeed support team at 1-866-932-1801 or via the support chat in your POS by clicking the "help" button.
