Referral

Referrals with offers.

A referral program is a system that incentivizes existing customers to recommend your products to their family and friends.

Setting up a referral program is crucial. It’s an acquisition and retention tool at the same time considering that both the referred and the referral are going to be rewarded and you as a business will be acquiring new customers.

  • Create your offer:

Once you’re in your kangaroo business portal, create an offer from the offer section. You can choose from the basic offers (Cashback, discount, free product, or free shipping) or a point multiplier. This is the offer that you would like to make the referrer or the referred benefit from.
It doesn’t have to be the same offer, you can create 2 different offers.

  • Create a referral program

The referral program starts by setting up the amount the referred should spend within a certain period. The business has the option not to include a purchase condition, which means that the referral will be successful upon the signup of the new customer. Then choose the referral and the referred rewards.

The business can choose between a fixed amount of points or one of the offers previously created, or both.

Choose one of the offers from the drop-down list. It will display all the offers created in the offer section (basic offer & point multiplier).

Including a purchase condition is highly recommended. This way the referred has to spend to actually benefit from the offer.

The purchase condition has the option to be met only in the first purchase or any purchae during the time of the referral program being active.

Keep in mind that referral should not be as easy as sending a link to someone because your users can send it to all their contacts or post it on social media and potentially take advantage of the system.

Don’t forget to always refer back to referrals  for better deliverability !
