How to capture the consent on Shopify Ecom and POS
Ask customers if they'd like to opt-in to marketing communication to receive promotions by SMS and email and increase your engagement rate.
With the Shopify Integration, there are multiple ways to capture the customers consent in Kangaroo:
On Shopify Ecomerce:
From Kangaroo's widget:
- When the user registers on the website, they can enable the consent form in the widget, from the Profile section.
- The user can enable the I would like to receive promotions by SMS and Email.
At checkout (SMS only)
- To enable the collection of SMS consent:
Go to Shopify dashboard => settings => checkout and accounts.

On Shopify POS:
Collecting email consent can be enabled by toggling the Accepts marketing toggle in the profile creation on Shopify.
Collecting the SMS consent is not possible for now. Kindly note that this is a limitation from Shopify POS.
The business admin can enable the user's SMS consent from the Shopify dashboard. As soon as the next sale is processed, the consent will be synched in kangaroo.

If an online store is available, the user can opt in through the online checkout process or from the Loyalty widget.
